REIKI
Reiki is dedicated to the natural healing
of the Mind, Body and Spirit. It balances the flow of energy,
releases blocked energy and provides healing.
The knowledge that an unseen energy
flows through all living things and is connected directly
to the quality of health has been part of the wisdom of many
cultures since ancient times. The existence of this "life
force energy" has been verified by recent scientific experiments,
and medical doctors are considering the role it plays in the
functioning of the immune system and the healing process.
The word Reiki means Universal Life
Energy. The word consists of two parts, Rei, which describes
the universal aspect of this energy while Ki, is the life
force energy which flows through all living beings. This life
force energy is the nonphysical energy that animates all living
things. As long as something is alive, it has life force circulating
through it and surrounding it; when it dies, the life force
departs. If your life force is low, or if there is a restriction
in its flow, you will be more vulnerable to stress/illness
and general imbalances. When your life force energy is high,
and flowing freely, you are less likely to get sick and you
will have free flowing, balanced energy levels. Life force
plays an important role in everything we do. It not only animates
the body, but is also the primary energy of our emotions,
thoughts and spiritual life.
REIKI CERTIFICATION - An amazingly
simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not
taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student
by the Reiki Master. Its use is not dependent on ones intellectual
capacity or spiritual development and, therefore, is available
to everyone. Once a Reiki Master, attunements, distance healing
and Reiki certification courses are yours to share with the
world. A Reiki lesson, including an attunement lasts approximately
1 ½ hours. Master level can be attained after the third lesson/attunement.
The first lesson (Reiki Level I) will
introduce the student to the basic concepts of Reiki and will
include an attunement. The second lesson (Reiki Level II)
will introduce most of the Reiki symbols and the second level
attunement. And, finally, the Reiki Master lesson will introduce
the Master symbol, distance healing and the Master level attunement.
REIKI ATTUNEMENTS - The "attunement"
given by a Reiki teacher to a new student is a fairly simply
process. Ideally it is given in an atmosphere of reverence.
The process involves the teacher opening up the student's
crown chakra (or the energy center at the top of the head),
and the chakras in the palms of the hands. An energy channel
is then created between the crown chakra and the chakra's
in the palms. Once this is done, the channel is then "attuned"
to Reiki energy. From this point on, the simple intention
of channeling Reiki energy will cause this channel to open,
allowing Reiki energy to flow into the top of the head and
out through the palms.
Reiki Attunements are not easily descrtibed,
but can be compared to tuning a radio. The first attnement
can be compared to finding a station amongst the static. The
second attunement brings the station in clearer. The Master
Attunement brings the station in perfectly, leaving the channel
loud, clear and static-free.
The word chakra is Sanskrit for 'wheel'
or 'disk' and signifies one of seven basic energy justifys
in the body. Each of these justifys correlates to major nerves
branching forth from the spinal column.
Reiki (Pronounced ray-key) is a laying-on
of hands healing technique thousands of years old. It is thought
to have originated as a Tibetan Buddhist practice that was
re-discovered in the late 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese
Buddhist. It is a very simple yet powerful technique that
can be easily learned by anyone. Reiki is a Japanese phrase
combining two words Rei meaning life and Ki meaning energy.
Reiki is a non invasive natural healing
method that uses the hands of a healer to channel energy to
another person. It has been practiced for thousands of years.
Reiki has been with us for thousands
of years. It was re-introduced to us in the 1800s by Dr. Mikao
Usui who passed on this wonderful gift. The system of Reiki
Healing is probably the most simple and natural method of
healing known.
Reiki is a holistic -wholeness of body-
form of healing which means that it will heal on a mental,
physical, spiritual and emotional level. The energy will go
to the area where it is most needed first.
- Reiki has been found to have a calming
effect on the body.
- " Reiki can restore balance to the
body.
- " Reiki supports the bodys natural
ability to heal itself.
Reiki complements all types of orthodox and complementary/alternative
types of treatment. Reiki can be given to any person. It
is not associated with a particular religion. Reiki is open
to all people.
